Hey quick question. I'm about to get the S5IIX (Currently have a Sony A7IV). I know the 6k modes are 10-bit color but it's 4.2.0 ten bit. Does that affect color grading in any way compared to 4.2.2? I'm n ot exactly knowledgeable on that part. Thanks.

This reminds me of the first time I was on a set with a Red camera. I was also there to shoot BTS and when I saw the camera (It was a RED Komodo for a music video shoot) and just seeing the guys do their thing and the reactions after I delivered the BTS was worth it.

I’m a photographer and now a film student. Recently I went on two sets with an arri and a RED respectively. It was mindblowing to see these cameras up close. Probably one of the best days of this film journey

Ironically, the bigger the camera and the lens, the more 'professional' the client thinks you are, and the more they will pay, which is, you know, its laughable. Canon 1D C is a monster but I noticed clients would pay me more if I used that then the GH4 even in a rig, but my back was not thankful.

Looking to convert Sony E Mount lenses to Panasonic cameras, can you say if there is such an adapter, I've looked everywhere.

Hot water? Controversy? Among a few complainers obviously, but does that whining amount to anything? Not from my point of view anyway. The minimal size and weight combined with open gate and the Lab app makes for a super-fast turnaround or sharing kit. It’s not an A or B can for corporate interviews and the like, but as a BTS tool or for scouting or event b-roll and candid comments or a bunch of other things it’s an inconspicuous carry that I suspect will be a very handy camera to have around.

S5IIX and G85 user and the S9 does interest me. I saw a YT video where the integration of the camera with the Lumix Lab was featured. That is a great feature for people who don't want to mess with editing apps. And straight from camera to social media as well. I do feel the price is a tad high ... maybe $900-1100

I'm a musician. Zoom X/Y mic sounds best to my ear. It's the most balanced. Shotgun sounds bass-heavy, lavalier sounds.... like a lavalier - Thin and raspy, lacking bass. Ultimately sound is a subjective thing. The Zoom is presenting your voice best here, but it's also a big piece of kit sitting square in the middle of the frame. Shotgun is invisible, and the Lavalier unobtrusive, so it's a trade-off. Most people will not notice the difference - but I do.

What’s up Trey, I hope you’ve been well my friend. I’m kind of in another mindset after having 3 of the S5 II & 1 of the S5 IIX. I am in need of a 5th Body and I could use a Travel/Personal Carry because I don’t own a Fun Camera and simply use my Ninja V on the S9 for when I need a Safety Shot. All in all, I agree the next Cameras coming must be monsters especially after the GH7 release 😮. I think all this chaos on the S9 was a cheap shot coming from some people just waiting for a chance to go at LUMIX since the AF was always their go to - to talk down about LUMIX vs Sony/Canon. My L-Mount line up is simple now, no going backwards. 35, 85, 100, 16-28, 28-70, 70-200 (Canon of course 😂) 2 Anamorphics & 1 Vintage…. I’ve found a home with LUMIX 📸💪🏽

I enjoyed your reflections on the S9 controversy. Your points are insightful. I am a Lumix user as well. And even though I am attracted to some of the cameras from other brands, as a small video production company my Lumix cams seem to get keep getting the jobs so efficiently that I haven’t been persuaded enough to jump ship (We’ll see what happens when the budgets increase lol). As you pointed out, they are affordable and effective. My current LUMIX inventory consist of 2 GH5, 3 GH5S, GH6, S5II (honorary Panasonic camcorder HCX2000).

Does it record on both left/right channels? SOme other wireless mic I got only records 1 channel audio

do these adapters work for AF-C? mainly in low light (concert).

I still use my gh5s for paid shoots I love it!

Great video! :) i also have one Molus X100 and i'm really satisfied. The only thing that bothers me is the narrowness of the reflector in the bowens adapter, how did you solve that the light doesn't shine only in the middle of the softbox? I mean some of that bigger, not the original, which is really small. Thanks a lot for the answer :)

I love your camera handheld setups. What would be the best setting for lowlight clubbing videos for the gh5? i have seen some really clean high iso HLG footage from the gh5. Also i am in the dark when it comes to the master pedestal settings in low light and if i must use the i.dynamic settings for low light. also wich shadow/highlight curve would be optimal for low light videos.....pppft a ton off setting to make on the gh5. thx for any advise!

Thank you for the video! I am about to get a Lumix S1H. I have a Canon 24-105 f4 L that I use for 90% of my paid work. I am trying to figure out if it makes more sense to buy this adapter or sell my canon lens to buy the Lumix 24-105 f4, if that would be a better option for the autofocus? although where I live second hand prices for the Panasonic lens are almost 3x the Canon, which makes me think maybe it's better to get the adapter. This is the only Canon lens that I have.

Hey Lowell, question of my life now, does the Lumix S5 focus bracketing work with Sigma MC 21 adapter? I want to use the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM Lens with the S5 but I was told it will disable the focus bracketing. But focus bracketing would be a must have for me. Could you please check it?

Hello Trey, I just bought the Zoom H6 (2020 model) and I need to take advantage of a friend's trip to the USA to buy a system of two wireless lavalier microphones that are compatible with the recorder. I will use it for independent short films. The "Sennheiser Pro Audio EW 112P G4" are too expensive for me. I appreciate your advice. thanks gus

I really hoped I could do the same with my Fuji cameras. However, the Viltrox EF-FX2 is incapable of working the autofocus on this lens. It always hunts to the opposite end of the focus range, not even capable of holding the manually focussed position with a static shot. Even with the switch set to "MF" it still attempts to autofocus unless I actually disable autofocusing in-camera. Another manual focus lens for me then; though a very sharp one (compared to my Canon FDs) that makes focussing a lot easier.

Dude, is there any way to fit an L mount on a micro 4/3 body?

Hi, since you already have an atomos 5, you should record externally the HDMI output of your GH4 in order to get a 10 bit signal out of it, the internal recording signal on the GH4 is only 8 bits sadly. There is an option out there in the menus to enable the 10 bits 4.2.2 signal from the HDMI. Having 10bit will allow you to have a lot more flexibility in color matching the image with the GH5 and S5II if needed, it's a great improve and for you cost nothing ^^

Cost effectiveness gh4 and gh5 are great. Here in aus a second hand gh4 is about 500, a gh6 is 2k and a g9ii is almost 3k. I want a gh5ii though as prices are coming down.

Would you recommend this lens with the GH5 for photography (specifically portraits)? Would the AF be decent in AFS mode?

How's the s/n ratio on this thing? Any irritating noise floor? I see that you record at pretty low levels, so I'd assume it's pretty good!
